Join the SheCan Athlete Health Program to learn how to thrive on and off the field as a female athlete.

Imagine if you could show up to practice energized, free from period concerns, and confident in your abilities every single time.

Would your performance be better?

More important yet, would you enjoy your sport more?

Dr. Katrina has worked with many female athletes and is a long-distance runner herself. She’s run a 32:47 minute 10km and continues to run personal best times due to finally understanding exactly how to stay healthy and support her body to perform. Through her athletics and naturopathic practice, she’s noticed some common themes among active women and girls across all sports. Many of the patients she sees are frustrated by the same challenges:

  • Low energy or a plateau in performance

  • Feeling unsure of how to eat to perform their best

  • Not knowing how to manage hormonal concerns like painful or irregular periods

  • Difficult thoughts or feelings about their body image

  • Losing the joy of competing due to anxiety or pressure to perform

Your teen deserves to have a positive experience in sport. The SheCan Athlete Health Program will cover four pillars that will help them achieve their best performances without sacrificing their health and well-being for their sport

  1. Fuelling foundations - you’ll learn how to match your food intake to your energy needs, as well as detect common nutrient deficiencies that affect female athletes such as iron and vitamin D deficiency

  2. Sport hormones - we’ll discuss how hormone health is affected by exercise and troubleshoot a wide variety of period problems. Participants will leave with valuable information about how to monitor their hormonal health for now and for life.

  3. Recovery requisites - you’ll learn how various factors can impact your recovery including sleep, digestion, and nervous system health, and leave with an individualized plan to up-level your recovery

  4. Prepare to perform - we’ll discuss common mindset traps that hold female athletes back and develop tools to overcome doubts, cultivate confidence and find joy in training

Each module will cover key educational pieces, have room for open, facilitated discussion, and involve an activity or take-home skill that will help these fierce female athletes implement the strategies into their training plan immediately.

Other benefits of the program include

  • Fostering camaraderie and companionship amongst women aligned in their active endeavors

  • Opening up about topics that so many teens feel unsure who to talk to about, under the supervision of a medical professional

  • Assessments and optional bloodwork to assess key health metrics

  • Individualized advice for each athlete from Dr. Katrina Allison ND

Apply now as spaces are limited. Successful applicants will be contacted with offers to join the program by Monday April 24.
